Q: Does the Card Slinger™ damage cards?

No. If you have any concerns, scan with sleeves on. The Standard and Adjustable models both include a sleeved-card drawer, and you can add more with our sleeved-card drawers.

Q: I have a 3D printer — can I just print my own?

Yes! v3 files are available on Printables and MakerWorld. The v5 files are on indefinite hold because copies of our designs keep being sold without permission, so they are not available to download.

Q: Can I download, print, and sell the Card Slinger?

No. The Card Slinger is free to download and print, but not for profit. We do not offer commercial or resale licenses. Please respect this agreement — contact us with questions.

FAQ

Does the Card Slinger™ damage cards?

No. But if you have any concerns, scan with sleeves on. The Standard and Adjustable models both include a sleeved-card drawer, and you can add more with our sleeved-card drawers.

Does it work for sleeved cards?

Yes — the Standard and Adjustable models support both sleeved and unsleeved cards. The Lite model is unsleeved only. Browse the full lineup.

Do penny sleeves and other sleeve sizes fit?

Some penny sleeves fit in the sleeved drawer and some are too large. We offer drawers for standard sleeves and for perfect-fit sleeves, so you can pick the drawer that matches your sleeves. See our drawers.

Does it work with sports cards?

Yes. The Standard model fits standard-size sports cards. The best app we have found for them is Hobby Scan, and our Hobby Scan Edition is made for it. Top loaders do not fit.

Which scanning apps work with it?

For Magic, we recommend ManaBox (use the quick scan setting), Delver Lens and Mythic Tools. For Pokémon, Rare Candy, Delver Poke and Dex work well. For sports cards, use Hobby Scan. For Yu-Gi-Oh, use the TCGplayer app with our Japanese-size drawers; we do not recommend it for other card types. We do not recommend the Dragon Shield app, and there is no Lorcana scanner we recommend yet. We do not make these apps, and updates can change how well they scan, so check each app website for tips.

Which phones work with it?

Most phones. If your phone lies flat and its camera is on the right or in the center, it will work great. A better camera scans better, and some Android phones do not perform as well as iPhones. The Card Slinger is built to be tough and supports most phones.

What is the difference between the Lite, Standard and Adjustable?

Standard comes with two drawers, one for sleeved cards and one for unsleeved cards. Adjustable adds an articulating, multi-position phone stand and has removable drawers for both sleeved and unsleeved cards. Lite is our most basic model: a single tray with a non-removable base, for unsleeved cards only. The unsleeved drawer holds about 180 cards before you need to empty it, and the sleeved drawer holds about 80 single-sleeved cards. The Adjustable holds the same, and the Lite holds about 150 unsleeved cards.

How do I take care of my Card Slinger?

It is made of PLA plastic. Do not leave it in a hot car or direct sun, as it can warp.

I have a 3D printer — can I just print my own?

How does shipping work?

Card Slinger products are designed in Philadelphia and made and shipped from Austin, Texas. Most ship the next business day, and all ship within 5 business days. Merch and game mats are printed to order and ship on their own timeline. Full details on our shipping page.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we ship to most countries, and shipping is calculated at checkout. In many countries, including Canada, the UK, Germany, France, Australia and Japan, prices show in your local currency and import duties and taxes are added at checkout, so you should not be billed again on delivery. In other countries, customs duties and taxes may be due on delivery, and they are set by customs in your country, not by us.

Where is my order, and how do I track it?

Card Slinger products usually ship the next business day and always within 5 business days, and you will get an email with tracking the moment your order ships. Tracking can lag a day or two behind the carrier. If it says delivered but you do not have it, wait a day or two and check around your door and building, then email CardSlingerTCG@gmail.com with your order number. We will contact the carrier and, if the package is lost, refund or reship it. Merch and game mats ship on their own timeline.

Can I change my shipping address after I order?

Yes, if your order has not shipped yet. Email CardSlingerTCG@gmail.com with your order number and the correct address, and we usually update it the same day. Once an order has shipped we cannot redirect it, so please check your address at checkout. Apple Pay, Google Pay and Shop Pay can fill in an old address.

Can I cancel my order or change the color or model?

Yes, before it ships. Email CardSlingerTCG@gmail.com with your order number and tell us what you would like to change, and we will cancel it or switch it for you.

Do you accept returns?

30-day returns on unused Card Slinger products (merch and game mats are final sale). We email you a return label and deduct its cost from your refund. If your Card Slinger arrives defective or damaged, contact us within 30 days and we will replace it at no charge. Read our return policy for details.

My Card Slinger arrived damaged. What do I do?

We are sorry about that. Email CardSlingerTCG@gmail.com with your order number and a photo within 30 days of delivery. We will replace the broken part, or the whole unit if needed, at no charge.

Is this the real Card Slinger store?

The official stores are cardslinger.shop and our Etsy shop, run by a small team of two. We email you at every step: order confirmation, shipping and delivery. A Card Slinger on Temu, Amazon or Wallapop is not from us. If you think you have been sold a copy, email CardSlingerTCG@gmail.com.

How to use

Set up your scanning app

For MTG: Manabox (using quick scan), or Mythic Tools. We do not recommend the TCGPlayer app for MTG.

For Pokemon: Rare Candy, Delver Poke, and the Dex App.

For Yugioh: TCGPlayer app — avoid for other card types. Combine with our Japanese-sized card drawers.

For Sports Cards: we're working with Hobby Scan on an awesome sports scanning experience. Available on iOS & Android.

Refer to each app's own site and support for the latest scanning guides and tips.

Position your phone over the card

Remove and re-position the phone stand. If you're using the adjustable stand, pivot and adjust its arms to best frame your phone over the card.

Tips: Scanning MTG cards in Manabox

In Manabox, enable quick mode to scan continuously. If a result is wrong (misidentified foil or set), tap the "normal" or set icon to change those details. For bulk foil scanning, the "prefer foil" checkbox lets you scan foils separately from non-foils.

Here's a helpful Manabox getting-started guide →. Once scanned, edit any details and save to your collection or decks. Export as .csv or text for sites like Moxfield and Archidekt.

Tips: Card lighting & sleeved cards

The best results come from indirect, generous, soft lighting that doesn't produce harsh shadows. A dedicated external light isn't required — and direct light can sometimes make things worse. Patience and experimentation will yield near-perfect results.

Scanning sleeved cards can produce mixed results depending on the app, sleeve type, and lighting. Experiment with your space for best results. The Lite version of the Card Slinger only supports unsleeved scanning.
